Whitehaven provides support and accommodation for adults with a variety of learning disabilities and mental health conditions. These include Down’s syndrome, autism and Asperger syndrome and schizophrenia.

Whitehaven is a large modern detached house situated in a residential area. It has a lawned garden, chicken house with run and conservatory. There is a convenience shop and newsagent opposite and playing fields nearby. Bognor Regis is a popular traditional seaside town and has excellent road and rail connections. It is 7 miles from Chichester and 15 miles from Worthing. Part of the house has been made into 2 apartments.

Dedicated staff at Whitehaven maintain a warm and homely atmosphere. The aim is to provide a safe, supportive and ( stable )caring environment for their residents. Every person’s needs are different so their requirements are tailored to suit each individual. There is a range of activities on offer with participation gently encouraged. Achievements are recognised and celebrated. Great importance is placed in listening to the views and concerns of residents in order to help them overcome anxieties or problems. Access to family and friends is welcome where appropriate and beneficial. The key objective is to assist residents in building the self-confidence and life skills that will enable them to live an enjoyable and satisfying life.
